About Alexis: Greetings! I'm Alexis *smiles and waves.*
Welcome and thank you for taking the time to view my leadership portfolio. Each tab is designated to a unique portion of my leadership journey while at UNCG. I hope you find as much joy in the leadership journey as I have! This is a collective representation of my experiences in the Silver Leadership Challenge. In essence my portfolio is serving as a digital medium for communicating my journey through this unique opportunity to engage with others! I am currently a first year Master of Public Health Student at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Since the day I was admitted as a Spartan I had high aspirations for my graduate career. I knew I wanted to spend the short time that I have in this new environment growing my leadership skills while earning my degree. I am currently employed as a graduate assistant with HealthyUNCG, our university's employee wellness program. Outside of employee wellness I also teach Cycle at the Student Recreation Center and I'm involved with several student groups including: Graduate Student Association, Eta Sigma Gamma, and Black Student Union. My background in Health Education and Health Promotion is the common thread that ties together my leadership experiences, goals, and experiences. |
Supporter SpotlightI wanted to use this space to show my appreciation for the support I've had for this experience and my UNCG experience in general. I would also like to dedicate this space to my Leadership Development Coach, Peter Romanella. Since meeting and working with Peter I have learned more about myself than I ever thought I would in this program. His kind words, attention to detail, and ability to "connect the dots" in our sessions has been the highlight of my experience. I can only hope my capacity to coach will match his in the future!

Leadership Goals:When starting my silver leadership journey I was unsure of my abilities. By that I mean, I was unsure of how well I would be able to distinguish myself here at UNCG, and unsure if I was making the correct decisions while being here. Inevitably this is something I chose to work on with my leadership coach. Over the past 5 sessions we have worked on building confidence, being grounded in my capabilities, and reassuring myself that I can and will exit my Masters program as a qualified and competent health education specialist!
